I am a postdoctoral researcher with the Group for research on Ethnic Relations, Migration and Equality (GERME) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). I draw on comparative and ethnographic methods to study issues of identity, religion and representation among Muslim minorities in the West. My doctoral research examined how public institutions engaged religious institutions, as well as how Muslim leadership responded to decisions made by state authorities. My future research will continue to examine the different relationships between policymakers and community leaders across various institutional contexts in Europe.
